Flourish One, Horizontal clip art

Beloved #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover returns with an unforgettable love story between a writer and his unexpected muse.

Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.Goodreads

My Pick One Favorite
Flourish One, Horizontal clip art

‘One of the things I always try to remind myself is that everyone has scars,’ she says. ‘A lot of them even worse than mine. The only difference is that mine are visible and most people’s aren’t.’
Character: Ben
I don’t know why his stare is making me uncomfortable, but it is. Just a few moments ago, I was thinking about how much I missed being stared at, but now that it’s happening, I just want him to look away.

Ben may not seem hurt on the outside, but this boy has a whole world of his own struggles. What I love most about Ben is that he pushes Fallon to be a better person (whether he is doing it for malicious reasons or not) even though he has his own flaws to work through.

Thoughts About The Book
Flourish One, Horizontal clip art

Colleen Hoover creates an amazing dynamic between Ben and Fallon in November 9. Her words create powerful emotions so strong, that this is the first book to actually make me shed tears. I mean, I’ve teared up in books before, but never, NEVER, cried before. Well Colleen Hoover managed to pull that first on me. November 9 had me so engrossed that I finished the book in one day. One! I just couldn’t bring myself to put it down. There are so many twists and character developments that my mind wouldn’t rest until I knew how everything ended.

Ben and Fallon have quite the unorthodox relationship, but I feel like that is what makes November 9 such a great romance novel. I don’t usually pick up the romance category due to the unrealistic nature of most stories, but this one really hit everything spot on. The relationship had distance, progression, and most importantly, individual character development that was independent of the other party. I can’t express how relieving it is to finally have a romance where the two people aren’t so dependent on each other that they simply cannot function without that person around them each day. But alas! November 9 had no such relationship, they were independent thinking people! Throughout the book, I could relate to both main characters, I could feel their emotions as if they were my own. Colleen Hoover – congratulations on making a spectacular romance novel. I cannot wait to read more from Colleen Hoover, she may just be one of my new favorites!

Yes, Yes, YES! Even if romance isn’t your “cup of tea,” this novel is amazing and worth the shot. If I didn’t rave enough about it in my thoughts above, please pick up a copy. ASAP. November 9 will always remain on my shelves.
